Black Swan is founded by Dashawn Dekle, an Austin, Texas–based artist turned designer whose work explores fashion as a form of spiritual and artistic expression. Rooted in purpose and guided by meaning, the brand blends craftsmanship with storytelling to create garments that exist beyond trend.

Formally trained in User Experience Design and self-taught in fashion, styling, and garment construction, Dashawn has been creating since adolescence, developing skills in hand sewing, embroidery, pattern making, sketching, and 3D design. Early experimentation with hand-altered garments, accessories, and tailored denim established a foundation built on curiosity, problem-solving, and intentional design.

Operating within the realm of slow fashion and underground luxury, Black Swan uses formalwear as its foundation, artistically altering each piece with precision and purpose. Every garment is handmade and made to order, with select one-of-one designs created as wearable art. Subtle callbacks, layered symbolism, and deliberate details connect each piece into a cohesive and meaningful body of work.

Exploring themes of transformation, duality, individuality, and acceptance, Black Swan exists as a spiritual extension of the self.
